The roots of Adidas shoes

Every company has its roots in the philosophy of its founder. Adidas shoes that caters to the motto of producing sports shoes to meet every type of sporting need was founded by Adolf ‘Adi’ Dassler. Adi was a keen sports person who began producing shoes after the First World War. His philosophy is what continues to guide the creation of Adidas shoes for men, women and kids.

It is a well-known historical fact that Adi convinced Jesse Owens to run in shoes created by his company. At that time, Adi was producing shoes with his brother Rudolf under the name ‘Dassler Brothers Shoes Company’. Historic wins shot Jesse Owens and Dassler brothers’ shoes to fame. However, fame also forced the brothers apart, with Adolf forming Adidas shoes and Rudolf Puma shoes.

Adi Dassler was not one to rest on past laurels or present troubles. He went headlong in creating more functional and stylishly designed Adidas shoes for men and women who wanted to excel in sports. By the middle of the twentieth century, sports people in every genre wore and promoted Adidas shoes that had the ability to keep pace with demands of modern sports.
